Meet the Team!

Team Leader, Jack Davis

Jack Davis was a Senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. As the Team Leader of the 2024 Steel Bridge Team, Jack was responsible for developing a preliminary steel bridge design and documenting team progress with meetings and advisors. Jack has previously interned at Richard A. Alaimo Associates as a Surveyor (2022), Field Representative (2023), and Site Planner (2023). Jack was able to receive on-site experience at over 120 projects, where he learned essential skills in structural and municipal design. In addition, Jack was the Treasurer of TCNJ’s Chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers, and the IGC Delegate of the TCNJ chapter of Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity. He is also a member of Tri – Alpha, the First Generation Honors Society. After graduating, Jack is working as a Structural Engineer at Power Engineers, in Mt. Laurel, NJ.

Connections Lead, Dora Krstic

Dora Krstic was a senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. As the Connections Lead of the 2024 Steel Bridge Team, she was responsible for designing the
connections between members of the bridge, which involves a strict adherence to the competition rules. Dora has previously interned at H&H as both a Structural Intern (2023) and a Geotechnical Intern (2022), where she was able to gain experience in the Quality 38 Control process and participate in preliminary engineering design. In addition, Dora was the President of TCNJ’s Chapter of The Civil Engineering Honor Society, Chi Epsilon, and the Vice President of TCNJ’s Harry Potter club, The Order of the Nose-Biting Teacups. After graduating, Dora is working as a structural designer at H&H.

CAD Lead, Matthew Mentonis

Matthew Mentonis was a senior pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at The College of New Jersey. In his role as the CAD lead, Matthew’s primary focus revolved around the design facets of bridges, encompassing everything from connections and footings to truss members and stringers. The design was developed using AutoCAD Civil 3D and was checked using Visual Analysis, ensuring that each bridge stands as a testament to TCNJ’s engineering excellence. Matthew’s proficiency in Civil Engineering extends beyond academic pursuits. During the summer of 2023, as a Site Civil Engineering Intern at Stonefield Engineering, Matthew worked to develop conceptual land development layouts, tailored to the unique needs of a diverse clientele. Matthew’s experience also encompassed comprehensive zoning reviews and the preparation of site plans. Matthew was also an executive board member of The College of New Jersey’s ASCE student organization as well as Chi Epsilon, TCNJ’s Civil Engineering Honor Society. After graduating college, Matthew will be working as a Structural Engineer for Colliers Engineering & Design.

Materials Analysis and Fabrication Lead, Josh Romero

Joshua Romero was a senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. As the
Materials Analysis and Fabrication Lead of the 2024 Steel Bridge Team, he was responsible for
ensuring that all logistics surrounding the design, fabrication, and construction of the bridge comply with the rules and regulations of this year’s competition. He was also serving as the Connections Assistant to help Dora Krstic with her responsibilities. Joshua has previously interned at WSP as a Civil Engineering Intern, where he was able to develop design plans for the construction of the Glassboro-Camden Line that included grading layouts, station plan assembly, and typical section rendering. Additionally, Joshua has served as the Regent (President) of the TCNJ chapter of Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity as well as a TCNJ Ambassador and Orientation Leader. After graduating, Joshua will be returning to WSP to work in their Civil Engineering department.

Members Lead, Jillian Stanton

Jillian Stanton was a senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. As the Members Lead of the 2024 Steel Bridge Team, she was responsible for designing the members that will withstand the required loads placed on the bridge. Jillian has previously interned at EIC Group LLC as a Structural Engineering Intern, where she was able to design jackings, rigging
equipment, and temporary restraints, and also develop bridge erection plans. Additionally, Jillian was the Vice President of TCNJ’s Chapter of The Civil Engineering Honor Society, Chi Epsilon, as well as the President and Captain of TCNJ’s Women’s Club Soccer team. After graduating college, Jillian will be working as a Structural Engineer for AECOM.
