Meet The Team

Kate Neal (Team Leader)
Kate is a graduated Civil Engineering alumna with a passion for land development and hydrologic design. Throughout her time at TCNJ she has been an active member of the community, as Vice President of Chi Epsilon (the Civil Engineering Honor Society), Vice President of Equity and Belonging for Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority, an ambassador for the TCNJ School of Engineering, and a member of Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society and ASCE. Kate has experience in both site/civil design as well as hydrology and hydraulic engineering through her experiences as an intern at CME Associates in 2022, and as an intern and co-op for Langan Engineering and Environmental Services from 2023 to 2025, where she will be working full time as a Site Civil Engineer upon graduation. Her role in this project primarily focuses on the transportation aspect of design.

Jalissa Colon
Jalissa Colon is an alumna of the Civil Engineering department at The College of New Jersey. Throughout the 2024-2025 academic year, she gained experience as a conservation intern for the Outdoor Equity Alliance, assisting with collecting baseline data, planning, designing, GIS mapping, surveying, and engaging in foundational stewardship activities. Outside of schoolwork, Jalissa is an active member of her community, serving as vice president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at The College of New Jersey and as vice president of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated. Jalissa is responsible for the stormwater and river analysis as well as designing the flood wall from the hydrologic perspective. Upon graduation, Jalissa will be working for Boswell Engineering as a Junior Water Resources Engineer.

Daniel Schiariti
Daniel is an alumnus of the Civil Engineering department at The College of New Jersey. He gained professional experience in Water Resources Engineering as an intern at Hardesty & Hanover in the summer of 2024. At the College of New Jersey, Daniel served as the president of the Civil Engineering Honors Society Chi Epsilon and was on the executive board of ASCE. Additionally, Daniel is involved as a member of the TCNJ Wind Orchestra, Jazz Combo, and Jazz Band, where he serves as the trumpet section leader. Daniel is responsible for the design of the stormwater pipe system to manage flooding due to rainfall. After graduation, Daniel will be working full-time as a Water Resources Engineer specializing in stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulics at Hardesty & Hanover.

Peter Solomine
Peter is an alumnus of the Civil Engineering department at The College of New Jersey with an interest in construction. He has experience in land development through multiple summer internships. He is well involved on campus, as he is a Laboratory Assistant for the Civil Engineering labs, he previously served as the President and Treasurer of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and is a member of TCNJ’s ASCE chapter. Peter is responsible for the transportation aspect of the project, including traffic studies and intersection design. After graduation, Peter will be starting as a Project Engineer at Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Baltimore, MD.
