Team Leader- Jakob Ramos<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jakob Ramos is a Civil Engineering graduate from The College of New Jersey. As the team leader of the 2025 Steel Bridge team, Jakob was responsible for developing a preliminary steel bridge design and documenting team progress with meetings and advisors. Jakob has previously interned at Dynamic Traffic, working as a Assistant Design Engineer Intern, using data analysis, traffic engineering, and analytical skills on various projects to formulate technical reports in the private and public sector. Jakob was also the secretary for The College of New Jersey\u2019s student chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers. After graduation, Jakob will work as a Field Engineer at Agate Construction Co.

Members Design Lead- David Cardenas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Cardenas is a Civil Engineering graduate from TCNJ. As the members design lead, David was responsible for the structural member analysis. Structural members were designed and analyzed in Finite Element Modeling and Visual Analysis. Over the summer of 2022, David conducted summer research at TCNJ in the MUSE program. During that summer, David quantified the performance of rural bridges during hurricane Ida. Over the summer of 2023, David interned at Dynamic Engineering, working with the Engineering team on CAD designs including conceptual plans, site plans and ADA compliance. In the summer of 2024, David interned at Kimley-Horn as a Civil Engineering intern, gaining more experience in AutoCAD drafting site plans while also learning about municipal and state code. David also conducted site visits for a Structural Engineer and wrote site visit reports which were submitted to the clients. After graduation, David will be a Structural Engineer at AECOM.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Connection Design Lead- Andrew Byrne<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Byrne is a Civil engineering graduate from TCNJ. As the connections design lead, Andrew was in charge of the design of connections between members and making sure they follow the rules of the competition. Over the summer of 2023 Andrew participated in TCNJ’s MUSE program. In the program Andrew conducted research with Dr. Horst on \u201cClimate Change and Extreme Rainfall Events\u201d. In 2024, Andrew had an internship at CME associates assisting municipal engineers and surveyors in research, drafting, inspections, & surveying for many sites in South Jersey. After graduation Andrew will be an Engineer in Training at the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Material Analysis and Fabrication Lead- Matthew Nagy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Nagy is a civil engineering graduate from The College of New Jersey. <\/em>As the Material Analysis and Fabrication Lead, Matthew\u2019s main responsibilities included material selection and evaluation. Matthew was also the Fabrication Lead where he oversaw and ensured fabrication follows design specifications. From 2021-2025, Matthew interned at Morgan Engineering & Surveying as a surveying intern. Matthew is a member of The Civil Engineering Honor Society, Chi Epsilon and is also a member of TCNJ\u2019s ASCE<\/em> student chapter. After graduation, Matthew will be a Staff Bridge Engineer at French and Parrello Associated pursing a Structural Engineering career.

Quality Control and CAD Design Lead- Ethan Moyer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Moyer is a Civil Engineering graduate from The College of New Jersey. As the CAD design lead and quality control, Ethan was responsible for following machine shop CAD standards to design members of the bridge, as well as making sure fabricated bridge pieces met the required design constraints. In 2024, Ethan completed an internship with McCormick Taylor in the highway department. Using MicroStation, Ethan prepared roadway cross sections, drafted typical sections, and prepared crash diagrams and traffic count diagrams. Most notably, Ethan was responsible for surveying and designing ADA compliant curb ramps for roadway maintenance projects. Ethan will continue working with McCormick Taylor full-time after graduation. Using the CAD skills learned at McCormick Taylor along with prior AutoCAD experience, Ethan will ensure the bridge design parts meet design constraints and CAD standards.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
