Gloria Afotey

Gloria Afotey is a Civil Engineering senior at The College of New Jersey. Throughout her time at TCNJ, Gloria has developed strong leadership skills through her involvement in the National Society of Black Engineers, where she served as both Vice President and Public Relations Chair. She also contributed to campus life as a Resident Advisor and as a mentor in the PRIDE Mentoring Program. Outside of school, she serves as Secretary for Rescue Volunteers, a nonprofit organization. Gloria particularly enjoyed her coursework in Transportation Planning and Design, as well as Hydraulic Engineering. She gained hands-on experience interning with the traffic team at Stonefield Engineering in 2024 and later at Jacobs Engineering in 2025, where she continues to work part-time to further build her expertise. In this project, Gloria focuses on assessing hydrologic aspects and leading the design of a floodwall to mitigate overtopping during rain events.
Terrell Osei-Kyei (Team Leader)

Terrell Osei-Kyei is a senior at The College of New Jersey pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Studies, with a passion for the environment and hydrologic design. Throughout his time at TCNJ, he has been an active member of the community, as President of the Humanitarian Engineering Club, a RA for a freshman dormitory, a Math and Science tutor, and a member of Theta Tau, Delta Tau Delta, and ASCE. Terrell has experience in both stormwater research and environmental engineering, through his experiences as a stormwater researcher under TCNJ’s Dean of Engineering in 2023, a Green Teams Intern at the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies in 2024, and as an Environmental Technician-Aid Intern for Remington and Vernick Engineers this summer. In this project, Terrell focuses on assessing hydrologic aspects and leading the redesign of piping infrastructure within the watershed.
Maria Paulo

Maria Paulo is a senior at The College of New Jersey pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. She has a strong interest in structural and transportation engineering. She gained professional experience as a Civil Engineering Intern at Advantage Engineering Associates during the summer of 2025 and previously worked in Brazil with an independent structural engineering firm. She is also gaining industry exposure as a Risk Management Intern at Lincoln Financial Field. Within this project, her primary responsibility is the transportation component, including traffic studies and intersection design. After graduation, Maria plans to pursue a career in structural or transportation engineering.
Fizza Salman

Fizza Salman is a senior at The College of New Jersey pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. She has a strong interest in highway and traffic engineering. She gained professional experience as a Highway and Traffic Intern at Advantage Engineering Associates during the summers of 2024 and 2025, and also worked with the firm as a Utility Engineer in the winter of 2024. On campus, Fizza is an active member of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and the Pakistani Student Association (PSA). Within this project, her primary responsibility is the transportation component, including traffic studies and intersection design. After graduation, Fizza plans to pursue a career in highway and traffic engineering or urban design.
