
Sonny Lopez
Sonny is a senior Civil Engineering student whose passion lies in providing equitable transportation. At TCNJ he serves as the Secretary of Chi Epsilon (the Civil Engineering Honor Society), and as an ambassador for the TCNJ School of Engineering. Sonny has gained experience in both roadway and traffic design during his time as a Temporary Engineering Services worker at the NJDOT in 2025. He also has experience in GIS mapping from an internship with SAM LLC. in 2024. He will be responsible for assessing the transportation design of this project.

Emily Oberman
Emily is a Senior in the Civil Engineering department at The College of New Jersey, minoring in Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. She gained professional experience in structural engineering – both in construction and design – over two summers at AECOM. At the College of New Jersey, Emily serves as the president of the Civil Engineering Honors Society, Chi Epsilon, and vice president of the Humanitarian Engineering club. Additionally, she is involved as a member of the Women in Leadership and Learning program. Emily is responsible for the geotechnical design aspect of the project.

Zachary Pacenza (Team Leader)
Zachary is a Senior in the Civil Engineering Department at The College of New Jersey. He is an active member of the TCNJ community, serving as the Vice President of Chi Epsilon (the Civil Engineering Honor Society), Vice President of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, and a member of ASCE. Zachary has gained experience in site/civil and land development design through his experience as an intern at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services in 2025. His role in this project primarily focuses on the site/civil aspect of design.
