Meet the Team

Team Leader: Kaleb Felsenstein

Kaleb was a Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. He is interested in highway engineering and plans to pursue that interest into the field after graduation. Kaleb interned at ConeTec over the summer of 2024, where he experienced work in geotechnical applications and an emphasis on in-field problem solving. Kaleb is responsible for the redesign of the parking lot designated for Longport Beach dog park along with the relining and increase of cyclist safety on Route 152 into Ocean Drive.

Team Member: Matt Hengey

Matt Hengey's profession headshot

Matt was a student studying Civil Engineering at The College of New Jersey. While interning at Earle Asphalt Company in the summer of 2024, Matt split his time between the office and the field gaining valuable industry experience and knowledge of engineering project life cycles, which he then used to help his team during his senior project. Matt will be joining Taylor Wiseman & Taylor, working in their transportation department full-time. Matt was responsible for redesigning the intersection connecting Route 152 to Ocean Drive in order to maximize traffic flow through the intersection.

Team Member: Michael DiRienzo

Michael DiRienzo's profession headshot

Michael was a student in the Civil Engineering major at The College of New Jersey. He gained practical experience as a summer intern at Becht Engineering BT. and Colliers Engineering & Design in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Both of these jobs gave him knowledge in his desired fields, assisting in a variety of real-life civil site and structural projects over the course of two summers. Michael has accepted a full-time job at Colliers, rejoining their civil site team in the summer. His role in the project was to redesign the intersection connecting the JFK Memorial Bridge to Longport and improve its functionality.
