Final Device

Flowchart of Device’s Functionality

A flow chart describing the way in which the mask will function. The first step consists of application of the mask onto a patient. After the mask is applied, pressure sensing at the nose bridge, cheeks and chin will commence. If pressure and time are deemed to exceed safe thresholds, the mask will actively adjust. Adjustment will be terminated after pressure is relieved to acceptable threshold. If pressure and time remain within acceptable thresholds, pressure sensing cycle will continue.

Models of the final device generated using SolidWorks. The image on the left shows how the round film sensors are to be integrated into the mask. The image on the right shows the location of the motors (blue), the motor casing (red), and the strap (black). The motor casing will house the components so that a patient is not in direct contact with them. Additionally, the motor casing will consist of a track system to allow for the strap adjustment.
