Isabella Testa

Isabella is a senior biomedical engineering student from Voorhees, NJ. She is the Team Leader of the ArthroRecover development with her primary focus in the integration of the device. Additionally, she is responsible for the material selection of the device and human testing. As the team lead on the development, she is responsible for ensuring effective communication among the team and ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. After graduation, Isabella plans on entering the industry. 

Laxmi Gajera

Laxmi is a senior biomedical engineering student from Elmwood Park, NJ. In her current role on our project, Laxmi focuses on testing the device through Computational Modeling Software, selecting and testing materials for the heating component, and ensuring the project stays on track. She is also in charge of scheduling and supervising project execution. After graduation, Laxmi plans to work in industry and later earn her master’s degree in biomedical engineering.

Greta Lopez

Greta is a senior biomedical engineering international student from Lima, Peru. She is the Webmaster of AthroRecover. Her responsibilities include content creation, website design, and maintenance making sure that the website is visually pleasant but also easy to navigate, improving user comfort and satisfaction. Also, her engineering role is focused on signal processing, implementing analytical approaches to evaluate feedback signals to improve overall performance and stability. After graduation, Greta plans to work in industry related to device manufacturing or attend to graduate school in Asia.

Esther Deravil

Esther is a senior biomedical engineering student from Mount Laurel, NJ. Her role regarding this medical device consists of being responsible for the documentation of the group’s progression as well as group discussions and is responsible for any electrical components that are necessary for the device to function. After graduation, Esther plans on continuing her career in medical device manufacturing or researching tissue engineering/regenerative medicine.

Jorge Urbano

Jorge is a Senior Mechanical Engineering student at the College of  New Jersey graduating in May 2025 from Lima, Peru. He is in charge of setting the budget for the ArthoRevocer device where he will work closely with the team to make sure the budget and the project is within the constraints. His engineering role is making the SolidWorks drawings and prototyping of the device, it includes muscle optimization, and building the device. When creating the SolidWorks and building, he ensures that it is adjustable to accommodate people and be compact.
