These boards will support 44 LEDs in 11 serial strings which will output 5 different color channels of light. These channels will each be individually controlled by pulse-width modulated signals which will change the intensity of said lights. A user will be able to interact with our Android application which will send data to our PSoC embedded microcontroller via Bluetooth to control which LED strings are on and how intense their output is. At least one LED string will be fully soldered and operational, controlled by a PWM demo. The custom PCBs will drive the LEDs at constant current for maximum light output.

The Team

From left to right: Jack Tomkiel – Senior Computer Engineering major, head of firmware development and prototyping.
