Ethical considerations

A main goal of this design project is to ensure that all common ethical standards are met throughout the entirety of the design process. A list of specific considerations that the group followed are seen below.

  • No humans or animals are to be harmed in any way throughout the design process or device use in the field, ensuring safety to all is the first priority for the project.
  • The work throughout this project is completed only by the members that the group entails. If outside sources are used for information then proper citations will be given and can be further acknowledged in the references portion of this report.
  • All potential hazards are to be thoroughly investigated by the group throughout the design process and provided to the user before distribution.
  • The group will ensure the highest level of integrity at all times when working with medical professionals to further enhance the device design.
  • The group accepts all responsibilities associated with the potential hazards both foreseeable and unforeseeable associated with the manufactured device.
  • Any questions or conflicts that healthcare professionals have regarding the manufactured device will be resolved with full transparency to both associated parties.
  • The group will provide all of the necessary educational tools to ensure that the manufactured device is used properly and effectively in the field.
  • IRB approval will be accounted for during the event of any human trials needed.
