Gisella Guerrero-Sanchez

About Gisella…

Gisella Guerrero-Sanchez was born and raised in Peru, and moved to New Jersey in 2018. She is the first immigrant of her generation attending college, and a veteran of The United States Army Engineering Corp. Gisella earned her Associates in Natural Science and Mathematics at Bergen Community College, where she was inducted to the honor society Phi Theta Kappa. An honor given to the top 5% of American students in community college. Gisella transferred to The College of New Jersey in fall of 2021, and majored in biomedical engineering in spring of 2022. Currently, she is part of the Honors and Scholars program at TCNJ. Gisella is currently in the  research and pre-medicine  track. Gisella also conducts research in a NASA-funded laboratory led by Dr. Anthony Lau. Her research consists in quantitatively analyzing trabecular and cortical bone architecture morphology post-space flight. Her academic interest is to pursue a MD/PhD in traumatic injury biomechanics and rehabilitation with a focus in pediatrics. For this project she takes on the role of webmaster and internal algorithm developer.
