Electronics System
The primary goal is to fully integrate the electric motor to the drivetrain. The entire system must abide by ASME regulations:
- 50V capacity limit for system
- 500W capacity for motor
- 500Wh capacity for battery
A mid-drive motor will be utilized in the 2026 e-HPV design as shown in the image to the left.
A Bafang mid-drive motor was selected as the optimal choice for the 2026 e-HPV.
Brake and gear shift sensors will be implemented as innovations to the 2026 e-HPV design.
Fairing
To optimize overall performance of the vehicle, a fairing will be included as a means to reduce drag.
Two potential fairing designs have been created and will be further tested for their aerodynamic efficiency.
