Ali Stibler
Ali is a senior engineering student from Mt. Laurel, NJ studying at The College of New Jersey. She is expected to graduate in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. As part of the GripSense development team, Ali is responsible for the prototype manufacturing, including selection and timely ordering of materials as well as building the physical product. Additionally, she will serve as the team lead on the project, ensuring timely completion of tasks and efficient communication between team members and the project advisor. Her position at the University of Virginia’s Center of Applied Biomechanics as a research intern studying the effects of car collision impact on ankle injuries and reclined positioning further reinforced her intentions to pursue a career in biomechanics. After graduation, Ali will be pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Tech.

Amanda Dias
Amanda is a senior undergraduate student originally from Clark, NJ studying biomedical engineering at The College of New Jersey. She is responsible for the computational modeling portion of the GripSense development team. This responsibility entails utilizing computer software to generate a predictive model of the proposed device. Additionally, she will act as the treasurer on this project; generating budgets, documenting savings and expenditure, and advising the GripSense development team on financial strategies. Her passion for cardiovascular physiology and its intersection with biomedical engineering led her to pursue an internship at the National Aeronautics Space Association (NASA) Johnson Space Center. In her position she researched orthostatic intolerance and cardiovascular responses that occur in spaceflight to understand the application of data analysis she completed. This internship not only exposed her to the biomedical engineering application of spaceflight, but reinforced her desire to continue her research career. After graduation this May, Amanda will be pursuing her Ph.D. at Northeastern University in Biomedical Engineering.

Michelle Foong
Michelle is from South Brunswick, NJ, and a senior biomedical engineering student at The College of New Jersey. She is the secretary of the GripSense development team with her primary responsibility in software development. Over the summer, Michelle took part in the MUSE program at TCNJ where she researched and developed a portable surface electromyography device that was able to assess muscle fatigue. After graduation, Michelle will be pursuing a position in industry.

Cory Sahanas
Cory is a senior biomedical engineering major from Wanaque, New Jersey. Her administrative role in this project is the webmaster, and she is also working on the electrical aspects of the project as well. Currently, she is an undergraduate student researcher in Dr. Hall’s lab studying blood coagulation and fluid dynamics. Over summer 2023, she was the Research and Development Intern at Biocoat, Inc., where she worked on developing a method for the inner lumen coating of medical devices. This experience left her with a strong interest in medical device development and mechanical work, as well as reinforced her love of learning and improving. After graduation, Cory will be continuing her career as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Stryker.
