What we’re doing
Welcome to the H.A.L.O project. The H.A.L.O team aspires to create an innovative lumbar orthotic brace that not only includes a heat therapeutic installation but also implements a feasible way to tighten the brace. Follow along to see the team’s accomplishments!
The Device must:
- Must fit around the lower to mid torso of the body.
- Tightening system should be able to be adjusted with minimal force exertion.
- Must be able to constrain movement on the lumbar region.
- Provides proper thermotherapy to user to relieve current acute lower back pain.
- Weight of orthosis must not produce significant axial spinal load on its own. Weight must also not influence normal gait.
- Reduce lumbar spinal compression caused by the erector spinae muscles.
- Device must be comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.
