About the Project

This is the webpage representing the Inclusive Powered Adaptable Lectern project, or iPAL for short. This project is a 2022-23 TCNJ Senior Project with the goals of creating an adjustable lectern which can double as a sitting/standing desk while being inclusive and accessible to anyone who wishes to use it. The project will include a mechanism for lifting and lowering the tabletop so that the project can be used comfortably by people of all sizes. It will also have a tilting mechanism to tilt the tabletop to transform it between a desk and a lectern. The team is looking into implementing many other features to maximize the utility this project can provide.

Overall Goals

The team aims for the project to ultimately be used by the school’s president at a TCNJ graduation ceremony. This means that the project must be aesthetically appealing as it will be the centerpiece of a large scale professional presentation. The team also wishes for the project to see recreational use as a desk for students of all backgrounds, being inclusive for most heights and disabilities.
