Problem Statement

A way to achieve early detection of non-visible pressure injuries in small infants who require CPAP ventilation.

In order to improve the general standard of care currently used in NICU, the device will detect non-visible pressure injuries as they form. This will allow the NICU nurses to tend to the wound before it progresses to an infection or sepsis.

The device has the intended use for infants with underdeveloped respiratory systems who require CPAP ventilation to help them breathe. This device will alert the medical professionals at the onset of a pressure injury so they can take proper measures to avoid further tissue damage.
