SolidWorks model of the movement system within the device. This design utilizes cams, a timing belt, a motor, and battery to move the device up and down in a similar fashion to the human chest while breathing.

Northeast Bioengineering Conference (NEBEC). Team presented Kangaroo Care Simulator Device and placed first in their respective zone and section.

Final design solution of the different components within the device, used at NEBEC poster presentation.

Electrical component schematic and implementation into the prototype.

The prototype has been built and the team has began verification testing on the device to ensure specifications are met. Below is the sound verification protocol set up in which a sound level meter was used to measure sound intensities of the heartbeat sound and voice recording.

Team obtained a group of 15 classmates to participate in validation activities. Seen below is the validation activity regarding the sound produced by the device.
