Welcome to TCNJ Lunabotics 2025-2026

Welcome to the TCNJ Lunabotics Site! We are designing and building an excavating rover to mine lunar regolith simulant. We will be designing the chassis, drivetrain, mechanism, electrical system, control and software integration.

Scope

The NASA Lunabotics Challenge Objectives: Apply NASA systems engineering process to design, build, and test lunar construction robots. Robots must traverse challenging terrain and construct regolith berms for: – Blast/ejecta protection during landings/launches – Shading for cryogenic propellant tanks – Radiation shielding for nuclear powerplants – Other mission-critical lunar infrastructure.

Our Subsystems:

Chassis – Drivetrain – Mechanism – Electrical System – Software & Controls Integration
