Welcome to the 2023-24 TCNJ SAE Baja Competition Team
Description
The TCNJ Baja Project is the design of a single seat, all-terrain vehicle. The vehicle is designed by a team of senior mechanical engineering students as their final design project. The team takes the vehicle to a competition set by the SAE Baja Organization that is held annually.
SAE Baja Competition
The team will take part in the 2024 SAE Baja Competition on May 16-19th in Williamsport, PA. The competition is hosted by Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA. SAE provides a number of competition rules and guidelines that the team must adhere to throughout the year long design process. At competition the vehicle must pass a technical inspection to be eligible for the competition. The competition includes multiple events, such as the acceleration/braking, suspension/maneuverability, a hill climb event, and a four hour endurance race. After the competition there is Business presentation, where the team must present their vehicle as the design for a market business in the manufacturing of all terrain vehicles. After all the events conclude the teams are scored and the top performers are given awards.
