Winter Progress Update

The team began manufacturing over winter break to test the compatibility of their designs with the frame. By the end of the break, we were able to get the vehicle on wheels. Looking forward to integrating other subsystems and begin testing!

Interim Design Review!

The team had a great interim design presentation. Some of the design highlights:

  • Two speed transfer case integrated with the powertrain.
    • Dog style shift mechanism
    • High gear: 20:12 (output : input)
    • Low gear: 40:12 (output : input)
  • The reverse MacPherson rear suspension design.
    • Upper A-arm
    • Weight reduction of 5.36 lbm when compared to the previous teams linkages.
  • The bent double A-arm front suspension.
    • Bent bottom A-arm for additional ground clearance

Summer Update!

This past summer team members Jon and Sam worked on the vehicle. They worked to get a more consistent 4-wheel lock when braking, implemented and tested a new rack and pinion, and became more versed in their subsections and the vehicle.
