Engineering Role: Canister Design with Urine Sampling and Overflow Mechanism

Anna is a senior from Schenectady, New York, studying biomedical engineering with a minor in chemistry and is expected to graduate in May 2024. As team leader for this project, Anna fosters effective communication between the team members and advisors. She is also in charge of the design of the catheter attachment site and canister design with urine sampling, including how the system will function as a whole.

Engineering Role: Vacuum Control Regulation System

Katerina is a senior from Moorestown, New Jersey, studying biomedical engineering and is expected to graduate in May 2024. Katerina’s administrative position on this design project is Webmaster. She will design and update the project website over the academic year to ensure clear communication between the team and the public. Based on Katerina’s experience in circuit analysis and biomedical instrumentation, her engineering contribution includes the temperature sensor functionality within the vacuum regulation system and digital control panel.

Engineering Role: Attachment Site Design and Manufacturing

Zachary is a senior from Tenafly, New Jersey, studying biomedical engineering and is expected to graduate in May 2024. As team treasurer, Zachary is responsible for creating and overseeing the budget for the entire project. He will also apply his understanding of biomaterials to the attachment site design and manufacturing, including material testing and computational research on various material properties.

Ryan is a senior from Caldwell, New Jersey, studying biomedical engineering and is expected to graduate in May 2024. As secretary, he will document meeting minutes among team members and those involving our faculty advisor. Ryan serves as the senior project’s electrical lead, overseeing the integration of electrical components to ensure the device’s proper operation with the Arduino control panel.
