October 2022 was an eventful month for our team. Here is a look at what we have been up and what we have accomplished so far.
- Design Inputs – defined requirements and specifications for basis of project
- Identified specific region of interest as low-resource clinics in Sub-Saharan Africa to further specify needs and challenges that will be considered for the scope of this project
- Identified some of the standards that will be needed to assess device performance and safety
- Developed an initial concept diagram that includes elements expected in design solutions going forward
- Developed initial control systems block diagram (To be released)
- Identified specific materials and components that could be solutions options used to meet functional requirements as heating elements, humidifying elements, and filtration elements.
- Developed two initial alternative design sketches – preliminary designs to be compared, assessed, and modified to reach final design solution (To be released)
- Presented design input and interim design for review to department faculty and peers
