January 2023 Progress Update

As we welcomed in the new year, we welcomed many changes and additions to our design. Our design is more defined and we are moving toward prototyping and testing. Here is what we have accomplished over winter break and the start of a new semester

  • In December, we presented our full design matrix and anticipated design to department faculty and students. We also recieved feedback on the direction of our project
  • In response to the feedback received, we updated our design inputs matrix and added the brief summary of anticipated verification and validation protocols
  • Full validation and verification testing protocols have started being drafted
  • Design sketches and a 3D model were redrafted in AutoCAD and Solidworks respectively.
  • Thermal and airflow simulations were performed in Ansys using the initial 3D model and will be repeated using the updated 3D model completed
  • Device handles and the infant bed are being slightly remodeled to improve anticipated user interactions
  • A feedback controls system and the corresponding electrical circuit design was drafted.
  • The process of machine shop approval and ordering parts is underway
