Our Project The team hopes to reduce complications that may arise throughout the peritoneal dialysis treatment process through the use of a device which can detect for signs of infection before a patient can. Patient's are currently told to inspect their own waste dialysate in order to assess if a risk of infection has increased. This can be dangerous however as patient's may only notice changes in the dialysate when it is too late which is where the need for the device arises. If the proposed device can detect for signs of infection before the naked eye can, it would vastly improve the treatment process of peritoneal dialysis.
