A quadcopter, or quadrotor helicopter, is a helicopter that is propelled by four rotors.

Quadcopters have become very popular for many reasons. They have many recreational purposes such as filming scenery, sports, or even movies. Their military purposes include surveillance and reconnaissance. They can also be used for search and rescue missions. Amazon has also announced their goal of using drones for package delivery.

This project is meant to create the basis for a low cost autonomous quadcopter.

This senior project is to create the electrical system and control algorithm for a quadcopter to raise to a desired altitude and hover there without any human interaction, except for turning it on.

This quadcopter will use a pre-existing quadcopter frame but with my electrical systems attached to it in a way not to disturb the quadcopter’s ability to fly.
