Our budget has been approved, below is a breakdown of how we will be utilizing it to create our frame and mechanism. This project has such a large budget, as it will be used for the foreseeable future within one of the TCNJ engineering buildings. This project will also be entered in the Mayo Business Competition, with the potential of mass production down the road.
The budget for the frame construction is approximately $1,900, the majority of this cost is due to the large acrylic sheets required for the design
The budget for the mechanism and its components is approximately $1,100, the majority of this cost comes from the chain & sprockets, as well as the metal material for the mechanisms.
Overall, our budget rings in around $4,000, with the frame and mechanism accounting for 80% of the budget. The rest is used for the miniature prototype, lighting and the motor to be used in the full-scale prototype.
