Max Weissman<\/h3>\n

Team Lead\/Mechanical Engineer<\/em><\/p>\n

Max Weissman is a mechanical engineering major working on the underwater ROV team. He is responsible for designing and analyzing the frame, electronic housing assembly, and buoyancy system. As the team leader, he is also responsible for financial, time, and personnel management. Max is analyzing the ROV for structural stability, while ensuring the vehicle is watertight with a positive buoyancy. He is applying his knowledge of mechanical engineering and fluid mechanics to this realistic scenario.<\/p>\n

Haley Blanchard<\/h3>\n

Electrical Engineer<\/em><\/p>\n

Haley Blanchard is one of two senior electrical engineering students in the underwater ROV senior project team. She is responsible for creating a user interface for the team to use on a laptop onshore in conjunction with a handheld controller to communicate and execute commands to the ROV. Blanchard is also responsible for the sensors and camera feedback. She chose this project in order to apply knowledge from classes to a real-life application.<\/p>\n

Mechanical Engineer<\/em><\/p>\n

Ethan Schwarz is a mechanical engineering major on the underwater ROV team. Ethan was responsible for designing the propulsion system of the vehicle. He determined the method of propulsion along with the orientation and layout of the thrusters. Ethan felt the project would provide an appropriate environment to \u00a0apply his knowledge of fluid dynamics and classical mechanics to solve realistic problems.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Sean Fernandez<\/h3>\n

Web Developer\/Electrical Engineer<\/em><\/p>\n

Sean Fernandez\u00a0is an electrical engineering student on the underwater ROV senior project team. He is mainly responsible for designing the power system of the ROV. This entails providing sufficient power required by each of the ROV\u2019s components, and the design of the tether. Additionally, Sean is determined to design in-house motor drivers and buck converters capable of withstanding its respective components power draw. Furthermore, he believes that the project serves as good platform to apply his knowledge learned in class. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
