What Is The Competition?
The competition is run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE); a national organization based solely around automotive engineering. Teams compete in the Aero design competition flying an aircraft based on the current rotation’s rules. The parameters adhere to a rotation every three years, this being the first year of a new rotation.
What is Our Team Responsible For?
Our team is responsible for the creation of fixed wing aircraft according to the parameters of SAE Aero East design competition held 2023-2025. This includes:
-A successful take off
-Capability of preforming a 360 turn
-Land while supporting the cargo load and
-Yield a total weight not exceeding 55lbs
-Achieve a wingspan between 10 and 18 feet
Placement in the competition is determined by a scoring system maximized by the longer the wingspan and heavier cargo load it can carry.
