Abstract
This team is designing an automated medication dispenser capable of storing 1 to 4 weeks’ worth of prescriptions from 4 to 1 times a day, respectively.
The device will be equipped with an optimized and elegant housing unit, a series of push buttons, a motor, a series of LEDs, a speaker, a serving tray and microgram weight change sensor, and a digital display.
The device will communicate with a mobile app that can store user information such as prescription information, times of doses, the amounts, any food requirements with doses, and user feedback from any felt symptoms.
The purpose of the design is to alleviate prescription difficulties among the elderly population, those with ADHD or memory challenges, as well as to support caretakers with prescription management.
