Abstract

• This team is designing an automated medication dispenser capable of storing 1 to 4 weeks’ worth of prescriptions from 4 to 1 times a day, respectively.

• The device will be equipped with an optimized and elegant housing unit, a series of push buttons, a motor, a series of LEDs, a speaker, a serving tray and microgram weight change sensor, and a digital display.

• The device will communicate with a mobile app that can store user information such as prescription information, times of doses, the amounts, any food requirements with doses, and user feedback from any felt symptoms.

• The purpose of the design is to alleviate prescription difficulties among the elderly population, those with ADHD or memory challenges, as well as to support caretakers with prescription management.
