We are a small team of talented Civil Engineering Seniors with a wide range of skills and experience.

Malcolm Bryson

Team Leader

Malcom is a senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. As the leader of the 2020 TCNJ Steel Bridge Team, he is responsible for optimizing the teams budget and schedule, and assisting with designing the bridge’s connections. Malcolm serves as the Vice President of the ASCE student chapter at TCNJ. Malcolm works for civil engineering department on campus, serving as a student laboratory assistant. Post graduation, Malcolm hopes to pursue a career in structural engineering.

Olivia Cleale

Fabrication Lead

Olivia is a senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. As a member of the 2020 TCNJ Steel Bridge Team, Olivia is responsible for spearheading bridge fabrication and assisting in the design of bridge connections. She is employed by the engineering department on campus, serving as a student worker in the STEM Machine Shop and as a senior member for Team Engineering. She also serves as the Vice President and Editor for the TCNJ chapter of Chi Epsilon, The Civil Engineering Honor Society and is a member of the varsity women’s lacrosse team on camus. After graduation, Olivia hopes to pursue a career in residential aspects of engineering and design.

Henry Sayegh

Quality Control Lead

Henry Sayegh is a senior civil engineering major at The College of New Jersey who is looking to obtain his bachelor’s degree by May 2020. Throughout his college career he has shown high interest in the structural engineering discipline, and plans to pursue a career as a design structural engineer or project manager for a construction company. Henry’s ability to understand and execute the procedures involved with steel design allows him to be a great fit for the 2020 Steel Bridge team. His attention to detail, work ethics, and capability to effectively work and communicate in a team based environment are great attributes that allow Henry to be handle the Quality Control position of the team.

Charles Turi

Support Design Lead

Chuck Turi is the support design lead for this year’s steel bridge team.  He will be highly involved in all aspects of the bridge’s design and analysis, especially when it comes to the bridge’s supports.  He will also assist with many other tasks including fundraising, quality control, fabrication and preparing for competition. Chuck is a senior civil engineering major interested in both structural engineering and environmental engineering.  He recently held an intern position at Hardesty and Hanover where he learned a lot about bridge design and worked with highly knowledgeable industry leaders. Chuck is extremely excited to be a part of this year’s steel bridge team and he looks forward to the things he will learn throughout the process.

Michael Ocello

CADD Lead

Michael Ocello is a Senior Civil Engineering student at The College of New Jersey. He is the lead CADD designer for the 2020 Steel Bridge Team. Michael has multiple years of CADD experience in a variety of different software’s, like VisualAnalysis and AutoCad. He is excited for the challenge and looking forward to working with the team.

Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi, P.E.

Faculty Advisor

Dr. Nabil Al-Omaishi was the founding chair of the Civil Engineering Department at The College of New Jersey. He earned his Ph.D in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska in December of 2001, and he received the Educator-of-the-Year award from the Central Jersey Branch of the ASCE in 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at TCNJ teaching various structural engineering courses.
