Being responsible for the design and construction of the drivetrain of the human-powered vehicle, I plan to implement a highly efficient gearing system that will transmit manual power from the pedals to the driving wheel. I will also work with my teammate in order to add electronic pedal assist to the drivetrain. I want the entire drivetrain to be one seamless design that meshes perfectly with the other components of the vehicle. A major goal of mine with this project is to create a very reliable drivetrain that can last for many years and survive all kinds of environments. Additionally, I would like the vehicle to be able to reach a speed of 25 miles per hour.
