Double Hinge Mechanism With Lock

In order to activate the stair climbing component, the user will slide the handle located at the side of the device forward until the rear handle clicks into the clamp located on the backside of the device. This clamp locks the double hinge mechanism, allowing the user to begin climbing stairs. Once the stair component is no longer needed, the user can slide the handle back to its original position until the front handle clicks into the other side of the clamp. This unlocks the double hinge mechanism and retracts the stair component so the user can return to regular ambulation.
