At this point, distance measurements were taken to calculate the coefficient of friction. The coefficient of static friction was calculated for the base in contact with two vinyl flooring samples and two laminate flooring samples. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After running the tests it was determined that the coefficient of friction was significantly greater than 0.6 with a power of at least 80% and a significance level of 0.05. The average coefficient of each base was at least 2 standard deviations above 0.6 making it true 95% of the time. However, the data for base 1 on Canopy Tree Vinyl had a power below 80% and there was not enough time to obtain the remaining samples so Canopy Tree Vinyl was removed from the analysis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The surface area of the base was measured on SolidWorks to make sure the contact area was greater than 3.14 square inches<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
