Peltier Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) Modules will be used to deliver heating and cooling to the user. The Peltier devices directly convert voltage applied to changes in temperature. The changes in voltage create one hot and one cold side of the Peltier; and a change in polarity switches the cold and hot sides. These capabilities make Peltiers ideal for both heating and cooling.

However, the Peltier modules are small in size and will not be able to provide heating or cooling over a larger area. Therefore, industrial aluminum foil will be used for the conduction of heat.

Additionally, a heat sink will be used to transfer unwanted or excessive heat from the thermoelectric modules. The heat sink will have a fan to aid in the removal of heat.

The Peltier modules will be placed in the preliminary schematic seen below. The locations are based off of the optimal sites in which applied heating and cooling will relieve anxiety.
