Driveway alarm security systems help to keep homeowners safe and secure on their properties. Current devices on the market provide an auditory notification to a receiver when a large metal object has entered the driveway, but these systems are unable to provide homeowners with proper peace of mind because they have no additional information about the vehicles, are unable to alert users about large objects (humans or animal) entering their property, and can not store data.

Project Vision

To develop a security system that is able to provide homeowners with indirect line of sight driveways information when something has entered their property.

Some user requirements for this project include:

• Detect when any large objects, animals, or vehicles have entered the driveway
• Provide notification and information on the object that has entered the driveway
• Have a data log of stored triggered events 
• Be weather/ outdoor resistant
• Be easily portable
• Any outdoor equipment must be able to operate without requiring connection to AC grid power
