Linear Actuator

Force sensing resistors (FSRs) are used to activate the movement of the linear actuators for each individual finger. These resistors are also used to measure the force applied by each finger of the hand. The FSRs are wired into an Arduino Uno board powered by a 9V battery.  The Arduino is coded to move the linear actuators in or out depending on the value of resistance sensed by the FSRs.  The linear actuators are connected to each finger tip via a fishing line which represents a makeshift tendon.  The FSRs used to measure the force applied are also wired into an Arduino Uno board and coded to convert the resistance sensed into a force displayed in newtons.
