Over winter break, a pole was designed to eject the pins into the bone, while a screw (M12x1.25, diameter 6.1mm) was created to ensure that the pins do not move within the implant. The pole will be put in first and then the screw will go in once the pole is taken out.


Within the implant, the pins were finalized and adjusted to fit in the chamber. Additionally, the end of the pin also has a slant of 45 degrees for the pole to push out the pins easier.

Lastly, another thing that was adjusted was the bottom half of the hip implant. Before, it was in a shape of a rectangular prism, which would have been difficult to put into the femur. As a result, it was made to be more cylindrical to allow the implant to be placed inside the femur with minimal issues.
