Meet the Team!

Joyce Vilson
Joyce served as the team leader and was in charge of group communication between members and project advisors. This included organizing meetings, optimizing workflow, and mediating important decision-making. Joyce was also in charge of the mechanical testing for the prototype to establish force constraints on the soft tissue and determine structural limitations within the buccal region.

Soundharya Mahadevan
Soundharya served as the team’s secretary and was in charge of managing the engineering notebook, keeping meeting minutes, and organizing key documentation for the project. She was responsible for the 3D modeling of the laryngoscope using SolidWorks. She worked closely with Joyce to develop simulations to ensure the pressure sensors are working correctly and efficiently.

Kaitlyn Massarelli
Kaitlyn Massarelli serves as the team’s webmaster and was in charge of creating and maintaining the team’s website. She was also in charge of the timeline of the project to ensure all members were meeting set deadlines and work flowed from task to task. Kaitlyn was also responsible for creating and designing the feedback mechanism with the red, yellow and green light to determine the quality of force applied as well as prototype testing between the laryngoscope and medical manikin.

Bhavik Patel
Bhavik was in charge of the pressure sensor design. This included how it would be fitted onto the laryngoscope and how the sensor would read the data. Bhavik also managed the finances for the project to make sure the items needed to create the laryngoscope did not go past budget.
