February Update 2022

Key Topics

  • Order Parts
  • Coding
  • Initial Testing

One of the main achievements of the team over the past month was the continuation of ordering parts. Some key components that have been purchased are fans and fins that will work together with the Peltier to get it down to temperature, as well as the vibration motors and materials that will be on/in the device. As of this moment, the team is $90 under budget, but has some final parts to consider purchasing by the end of the coming month.

The group has begun coding some of the main functions of the device. The ability to chose a treatment option, display it on a screen, and begin vibrating has been successfully completed. Moving forward, the team will figure out how to code heating and cooling with respective modulation methods, an on/off and reset switch, and finally an automatic shut off for given maximum and minimum temperatures.

As many parts have been accumulated by the group, initial component testing has been a top priority. Through this process, it has been determined that all treatment methods (heating, cooling, and vibration) are fully functional within the specifications set forth last semester, certain relationships are still necessary to understand to help in the preparation of the code.
