The hazard analysis was created to assess and consider different potential risks when using the RLS Relief Device. Before assessing potential risks, a scaling system had to be created. This was achieved through a severity table and an occurrence table. Combining these too allowed us to define different danger classes in the Risk Priority Number (RPN) table.
Multiple decision matrices were created to help in the selection of components and parts. While most were completed by the end of the month, the group is still considering different types of covers to use for the device. In addition to this, the group will also be creating decision matrices for the overall design of the device (such as placement of the components within the device).
The group in preparing for the final presentation on December 8th through a multiple step process. First, they with to complete the rough draft of the final report and have it reviewed by their advisor. Afterwards, they will take information from the report and condense it to be explained during the presentations.
