Rigorous Quality Control of Superconducting Coils for High Field Applications
Mission Statement
The goals are to design and manufacture in-house reel-to-reel testing instruments to evaluate the high-temperature superconducting (HTS) tapes continuously over length within a cryogenic setting; and to engineer winding machinery for HTS coils, ensuring precise control over tape alignment, winding tension, and winding velocity. Additionally, the quality and performance of HTS coils will be scrutinized through cryogenic testing and post-winding reel-to-reel inspection.
