The Reel-to-Reel inspection system is designed out of T-slotted framing. Motor and sensor mounts will be manufactured and mounted to the framing. Guide rollers will guide the HTS tape though the inspection process and prevent the tape from bending. A polystyrene container will be used to hold the liquid nitrogen.

Two different sensors will be used. A hall sensor (upper left) and an array sensor (upper right) to measure the critical current of the tape.

The winding table (pictured above) will be a modular setup, which will allow for more co-winding layers of the HTS coil by adding more dispensing motor sections. Each dispensing motor will have a tensions sensor to ensure constant tension of HTS tape during the winding process.
