The Senior Design Project program at The College of New Jersey aims to provide students valuable insight into the design process. Students decide on their team roles and project idea at the end of their junior year and begin designing upon their return to school in August. The first semester of senior year is dedicated to designing the device, while the second semester is dedicated to the assembly and testing of the device.

The Gait-Amending Response System (GAIT.A.R.S) was inspired by personal connections to patients who experience foot drop in their daily lives. This device aims to restore the normal gait of the user to improve their quality of life.
