Need Statement:
A way to actively address walking impairments for people experiencing foot drop due to muscular/neurological issues, allowing them to avoid dragging of the top of their foot during the walking motion.
Goals of GAIT.A.R.S:
The device should:
1. Allow the user to regain a more natural walking motion
2. Actively respond to the user’s motion in order to accommodate various types of gait
3. Fit the user comfortably
Device is currently being designed. Device designs will be made available towards the end of this calendar year.
