Project Information

The aim of this project is to allow the Baxter robot to play a game of checkers with minmal human intervention. The Baxter robot, pictured below, is a research robot developed by Rethink Robotics. It is equipped with a pair of grippers, a head mounted monitor display, arm/head cameras, and touch, sonar, and tactile sensors.

Using Baxter’s cameras, the project will analyze information about the captured image. Things such as the position of the board and pieces will be used to not only allow Baxter to interact with the board, but also keep track of the current state of the checkers game.
