Four senior biomedical engineering students will design and build an at-home body weight support (BWS) system. Millions of Americans are unable to support their own body weight long enough to exercise. Current devices that provide body weight support are intended for use in rehabilitation facilities and hospitals, The BWS system will be a treadmill attachment that will allow the patients to use the device in the privacy of their homes with limited or no outside assistance.
