Today 25 April 2018, marks the completion of the final validation and verification testing required. The final test included testing whether the device can within a 10000 N force.

The harness was delivered and fit tested in order to ensure that it can fit around a female frame. The user is standing within the device as a frame of reference.

The Olympic plates have arrived. As shown in the picture, a team member is carrying 72.5 lbs.

The final welds onto the frame are now complete. The circular plates are added to frame as this is where the weights will be placed in order to support the user.

The aluminum pieces are finally welded. This will allow for the team to bolt and screw the frame into place. The device is finally standing.

All aluminium pieces that are directly being welded together needed to be sanded down slightly. This preps the metal by removing possible oxides or coatings that might interfere with the welding process and as a result provides stronger welds.

With milling and cutting process of the long aluminum square bars completed, the team needed to deburr all the holes that were created. This will allow for smoothing of the metal after rough edges were created when the holes were created.

The students finished milling the rectangular tubes and started to cut and mill the circular pieces of aluminum.

The aluminum that will be used to build the frame was ordered and delivered over winter break. As seen in the picture in this update, all aluminum ordered are accounted for.
