Thermotherapy Exerciser

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD) is stiffness and tightening of the muscles and ligaments around the temporomandibular joint. Some of the issues associated with TMJD are muscle weakening, stiffness, and jaw pain. About 10 million Americans suffer from TMJD. There are no devices on the market that address the issue of pain, while allowing the user to strengthen their jaw through resistive strength training. Exercising the jaw muscles is proven to help alleviate problems associated with TMJD and prevent the recurrence of symptoms.

Our device should exercise the jaw but also firmly apply heat to the joint and muscles to ease some of the discomfort associated with exercising. It is intended to improve quality of life for anyone suffering from muscle weakness, stiffness, or jaw locking by providing them a reasonable means to improve their condition.
